WE’RE HIRING @ BURLINGTON’S #1 BED & BREAKFAST
Posted by: Linda Wolf
We’re an award-winning B&B with a “hip,” mostly “Millennials” clientele. We are seeking a part-time housekeeper with the ability to moonlight in our breakfast kitchen when needed, greet guests and take on other INN related projects.
As a stay-at-home-mom we know you value time with your kids in the afternoon after school. That’s why our hours are perfect for you! We’re looking for breakfast and housekeeping help during the day from 9 am to 3 pm (start and end hours are flexible), dependent on reservations.
As a student we know your days are packed with classes and homework. We’re looking for breakfast and housekeeping help on the weekends from 8 am to 2 pm, dependent on reservations. We are also looking for someone to help greet guests and assist the innkeeper with reservations and computer projects on weekday afternoons, 3 -6 pm (hours are flexible).
1. Housekeeping: turning over guest rooms and bathrooms for new arrivals, making beds and restocking rooms for guests staying multiple nights, laundry (wash, dry, fold and iron pillowcases), dusting and vacuuming of common spaces, general cleaning and tidying.
2. Breakfast: cooking and serving breakfast for up to 10 people from 9-10 am. Includes cooking eggs to order and preparing any other special breakfast items as well as post breakfast clean up and maintaining a grocery list.
3. Guest Check-In: greeting guests in the afternoon, giving them a tour of the property, explaining amenities and providing recommendations for things to do/see and places to eat in Burlington and surrounding areas.
If you have any weekend hours available, weekend support includes assisting with breakfast or cleaning guest rooms on Saturdays from 8-11 am or 11-2 pm.
Requirements: Dependability, punctuality, flexibility, friendly personality (you may be asked to greet guests, give them a tour of the property, and explain our amenities), good references.
Pluses: Cooking skills (you will need to help with breakfasts); Office/admin/phone skills (you may need to help with reservations/admin tasks, etc.) If you have food service/alcohol service certifications, all the better. A great knowledge of the Burlington area so you can answer guests’ questions is essential!
